About LivHub

What this is, where the name comes from, what the platform behind it does, and what it is trying to be.

What this is

LivHub at livhub.chat is a browser-based random video chat. You open the page, allow the camera, and you are put on a two-way call with one other person who is live at the same moment. No room, no audience, no queue — and the next person is one tap away. The longer version of how a call goes is on the main page.

Where the name comes from

Say it slowly and it explains itself: liv is live, and a hub is where things meet. Live conversations, one place to find them. The name is doing nothing cleverer than describing what happens here.

People write it every way there is — LivHub, livehub, liv hub, live hub. They all arrive at the same place, so spell it however it comes out.

What the platform does

Random video chat is the front door, but the platform behind it carries more than that. Which parts you meet depends on how far in you go:

Matching and calls
Random matching, video matching, voice calls and video calls — the part most visitors use and never go past.
Content and discovery
Public profiles and video content, browsable without being matched with anyone.
Messaging
Direct messages and service notices, for conversations that continue after a call ends.
Coins, VIP and gifts
Digital goods and premium benefits, where the product offers them.
Safety and account tools
Report, block, account settings and support — the parts nobody looks for until they need them.

Features get added, changed and retired over time. Nothing on this page should be read as a promise that a particular one will still be there next year.

What the product is trying to be

Low friction
Getting to a conversation should not require a profile, a questionnaire or a wait. Almost every design decision here comes back to that.
Orderly
Account safety, community rules and enforcement matter more on a platform where strangers meet than on one where they do not. Review, reporting, restrictions and risk controls exist to keep abuse from becoming the experience.
Legible
Policy pages that can be read by the person they apply to. That is why these pages are written in sentences rather than assembled out of clauses.
Unfinished
The product keeps changing — features, rules, compliance requirements. Treating it as done would be the wrong posture.

Who it is for, and who it is not

It is built for adults who want to talk to someone new without building an identity first — people who would rather discover a person in a conversation than in a profile.

It is not for anyone under 18, and the child safety page explains how seriously that line is taken. It is also not a broadcast platform: if what you want is a stage and an audience, this is the wrong shape of product and you will be happier somewhere else.

The rules, and where they live

Everyone here is expected to follow the law that applies to them, the terms of service and the community guidelines. Content abuse, harassment, fraud, impersonation, unsafe conduct, infringement and payment abuse all carry consequences that scale with how bad it was and how often it has happened.

How personal information is handled is set out in the privacy policy, and what gets stored in your browser is on the cookie policy page.
