Cookie Policy

Three kinds of cookie, what each is for, what breaks if you block it, and where to clear them.

Effective

What is actually being stored

Cookies are small files a site asks your browser to keep, and they come back with every later request. LivHub uses them, along with similar browser storage, to keep you signed in, to keep the site secure, and to understand in aggregate how people move through it.

Nothing stored this way is sold, and none of it sits behind an advertising exchange trading on who visits this site.

The three kinds, and what each is for

Essential
Required for the platform to work at all — authentication, security and session management. Without these you cannot stay signed in, and some protections stop functioning.
Performance
Anonymous usage data about how visitors interact with the platform: which pages get opened, which features get used, where people give up. Aggregate only.
Functional
Your preferences — language setting, display options, and similar choices that would otherwise reset every visit.

Essential cookies are the ones with no alternative: blocking them does not give you a more private version of the site, it gives you a broken one.

How to control them

Your browser is where this is managed. Every major browser lets you see what a site has stored, delete it, block new cookies for a site, or block them everywhere — and each one documents the steps in its own help pages, which stay more current than any instructions reprinted here.

Clearing them logs you out and resets your preferences. That is the expected result, not a malfunction.

Third-party storage

Some integrations set storage of their own — sign-in providers, payment processing, analytics, content delivery. Those operate under their own policies rather than this one. The privacy policy explains which categories of third party are involved and what they are involved in.

When this page changes

If what gets stored changes, this page changes with it and the effective date moves. That applies to adding a category as much as to removing one.

Questions about any of it go to [email protected].

This page expands on the cookies section of the privacy policy. Where the two touch the same subject, they are meant to say the same thing.
