What LivHub collects, where each piece comes from, who else ever sees it, and how long it stays.
Effective
What this covers
This page describes how LivHub handles personal information across everything the platform does — the website, the mobile browser experience, public profile pages, content feeds, messaging, matching, calls, and purchases. Using any part of it means this policy applies to you.
It is written in ordinary sentences on purpose. If something here is unclear, that is a fault worth reporting rather than a subtlety worth decoding, and the contact details are at the bottom.
Where each piece of information comes from
It helps to know the difference between what you hand over deliberately, what a browser gives away by existing, and what a third party passes to us on your behalf.
- You give it to us
- Account details when you register — email address, username, display name, password, and optional profile fields such as avatar, bio, date of birth and gender.
- You create it here
- Videos, photos, comments, and anything else you publish on the platform.
- You send it to someone
- Messages to other users, support requests, and feedback you write to us.
- You pay with it
- Billing details and transaction records when you buy something. Payment processing runs through third-party providers, and full card numbers are not stored here.
- Your device reveals it
- Device type, operating system, browser, unique device identifiers, and mobile network information.
- Your use produces it
- Pages visited, features used, interactions with content, time spent, and the page that referred you.
- Your connection implies it
- Approximate location derived from your IP address — or more precise device location, but only where you have consented to it.
- Our servers record it
- Logs of IP address, access times and system activity, kept for running and securing the service.
- A third party hands it over
- If you sign in through a service such as Google or Apple, we may receive the name, email address and profile picture it chooses to pass on. Analytics partners may send us aggregated or anonymised usage data.
What it is used for
- Running the platform — operating features, processing transactions, and delivering what you actually asked for.
- Personalisation — content recommendations, match suggestions, and interface preferences.
- Communication — service notifications, replies to your enquiries, and customer support.
- Safety and security — detecting and preventing fraud, abuse, and breaches of the terms or the community guidelines.
- Analytics and improvement — understanding usage patterns, fixing bugs, and building new features.
- Legal compliance — meeting legal obligations, enforcing the terms, and protecting the rights, property or safety of users and the public.
The part that is public, and the part that outlives deletion
This is a social platform, so some of what you provide is designed to be seen by other people. Knowing which half is which before you post is worth more than any setting.
- Nickname, display name
- May be public — shown on your profile and alongside your content.
- Profile photo or avatar
- May be public — shown on your profile and next to your comments.
- Public profile page
- May be public — reachable at its own URL and may be indexed by search engines.
- Videos
- May be public — visible to all users when published publicly, and may appear in search results.
- Public comments
- May be public — visible alongside whatever you commented on.
- Email address
- Private — never shown publicly. Used for account verification and for reaching you.
- Phone number
- Private — never shown publicly. Used for account security if you provide one.
- Password
- Never shared — stored encrypted and not visible to anyone, staff included.
Published content can be viewed, shared, cached and indexed. You can delete it here at any time, but cached copies may persist in search results or on third-party services for a while afterwards. Deletion is a request to the wider internet, not a command.
How long things stay
Information is kept for as long as it takes to run the service, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce agreements — and no useful longer.
- While an account is active, its information is retained.
- When you delete an account, personal data is removed or anonymised within a reasonable period, except where law requires it kept.
- Public content that others have already viewed or interacted with may remain in anonymised form after an account closes.
- Some records are held longer to satisfy legal, tax or regulatory requirements.
What you can ask us to do
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request a copy of what we hold, correct it, have it deleted, receive it in a machine-readable form to take elsewhere, opt out of marketing messages, or ask that we restrict certain processing.
Send requests to [email protected] with enough detail for us to match you to anything we actually hold. We reply within a reasonable time and in line with the law that applies to you.
Nobody under 18
LivHub is not intended for anyone under 18, or under whatever higher minimum age applies where you are. We do not knowingly collect information from people below that age, and anything collected inadvertently is deleted as promptly as we can manage once we know. If you believe an underage person has given us information, tell us and it will be handled as a priority.
Security, stated honestly
Technical and organisational measures are in place against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure and destruction: encryption in transit and at rest, regular security assessments and vulnerability testing, access controls and authentication, storage on industry-standard infrastructure, and staff training on data protection.
None of that makes any system perfectly secure, and claiming otherwise would be a lie. Use a strong password you do not reuse, and be deliberate about what personal information you share with anyone online.
Third-party services and links
The platform links to and integrates with services we do not operate — social login and sharing, payment processing, analytics and performance monitoring, content delivery and hosting, and support tools. This policy does not govern any of them.
Each has its own privacy policy and its own handling practices, and reading those is worth the few minutes before you connect an account or complete a purchase.
When this page changes
Practices, technology and legal requirements all move, and this page moves with them. Material changes get the effective date updated and a notice through the platform or by email, with a chance to read the new version before it takes effect. Continuing to use the service after that is how acceptance is given.
Contact
Questions, concerns or requests about this policy go to [email protected]. The contact page lists what else that address handles.
This policy sits alongside the terms of service. Where a question is specifically about personal data, this page is the one that governs.
